Internet of Things (IoT): Concepts and Real-World Applications

Students from Vandayar Engineering College visited Prasartech’s Thanjavur facility for a hands-on training session on the Internet of Things (IoT), moving the topic out of textbooks and into a working lab environment.

Mr. G.M. Prabhu walked students through how IoT systems are actually built — sensors and devices collecting data, that data moving across networks, and connected systems acting on it in real time. Rather than staying at the conceptual level, the session connected these ideas to real applications students would recognize: smart devices, automated monitoring, and industrial systems that rely on constant data exchange between machines.

Being on-site at Prasartech gave students direct access to the tools and setups used in real IoT projects, helping them see how the concept translates from a diagram on a slide to a functioning connected system.
