Seminar on Bio Fabrication — Electronics and Communication Engineering Department

Prasartech’s Mr. G.M. Prabhu addressed Electronics and Communication Engineering students at Periyar Centenary Polytechnic College in a seminar on Bio Fabrication, an emerging field at the intersection of biology, materials science, and engineering.

The session introduced students to how bio fabrication techniques are used to design and build biological structures and devices, layer by layer, using principles familiar from electronics and precision manufacturing. Mr. Prabhu explained how ECE students, in particular, are well positioned to contribute to this space — since sensor systems, control circuits, and automation are central to how modern bio-fabrication equipment actually operates.

Rather than treating it as a purely biology-driven topic, the seminar framed bio fabrication as a genuinely interdisciplinary career path, showing students how their core electronics and communication skills apply directly to a fast-growing area of applied research and industry.
